That’s what Amato has done here in this contemporary DC/Virginia YA featuring a heroine with a dead brother who discovers a strange ability to “see” memories in her brother’s posessions.Īnd also in President Abraham Lincoln’s assassination objects. Sometimes books are 5 star for me not because the plot is wildly complicated, or the prose is lyrical, or because I couldn’t see twists coming….but because the author manages to grab a handful of different ideas and weave them into a satisfying whole tale.
